Job Selection Expectations:
Applications, resumes, letters of reference, and written samples will be reviewed for required certification; demonstrated related knowledge, skills, and abilities; and ability to communicate effectively. As candidates progress through the selection process, they may be asked to perform additional written exercises, complete panel interviews, and perform a sample lesson related to the subject area.

Applicants are expected to possess a valid and appropriate certificate for the vacant position at the time of application as well as all necessary clearances. Additional qualifications and experience will be considered and may be necessary or desirable for individual positions along with a demonstrated competency in writing and communication skills.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of age-appropriate physical activities and motor skill development. Understanding of basic health and wellness concepts (nutrition, hygiene, safety). Knowledge of child development milestones (physical, cognitive, emotional). Ability to design and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans. Skills in demonstrating and teaching physical movements and exercises. Effective communication skills (verbal and non-verbal) with young children. Classroom management techniques to ensure safety and focus during activities.
Ability to assess student progress in physical and health-related areas. Motivation and ability to inspire students to be physically active and healthy. Strong organizational skills for managing PE equipment and class schedules. Ability to adapt lessons and activities to meet diverse learning needs and abilities. Knowledge of injury prevention and first aid protocols. Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
Ability to work collaboratively with classroom teachers and other staff. Physical stamina to actively participate in and lead physical activities. Problem-solving skills to handle unexpected challenges in class. Ability to provide constructive, positive feedback to students. Understanding of cultural competency and sensitivity in the classroom. Familiarity with using technology to enhance physical education and health instruction. First aid and CPR certification to ensure student safety during activities.
Anticipated Duration:
Part-Time teacher beginning in the school year (One day per week)
