Job Summary / Basic Function

The Department of Criminal Justice, History, and Politics in the College of Education, Arts, and Humanities at Pennsylvania Western University is seeking qualified applicants to teach starting in the Spring 2027 term. The position requests expertise in Political Science, with the ability to teach a broad range of courses, including Introduction to American Politics.

Courses will be delivered through various modalities, including online instruction; however, there will be an emphasis on in-person instruction with a specific need at the Edinboro campus. All positions are contingent on enrollment.

Minimum of Education / Training Required Education Summary

• Master’s degree or higher in Political Science.
• Demonstrated experience teaching Political Science at the college/university level.
• Proficiency in using learning management systems (e.g., D2L, Canvas) and digital instructional tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Political Science.
• Experience teaching in F2F, online, and multi-modal formats.
• Experience in academic advising and student mentoring.
• Experience with program assessment and curriculum development
