Senior Accountant Accounting

Position Summary

Under the Direction of the Accounting Director, the Senior Accountant will support overall accounting operations by preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, analyzing financial data, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and assisting with month‑end and year‑end close schedules.

• Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close schedules, including monthly reconciliation of accounts.
• Receive, research, and resolve routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status.
• Maintain, distribute, and archive accounting documents, records, and reports.
• Post various journal entries to designated accounts for reconciliations and adjustments.
• Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.
• Act as a resource for other accounting staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, major coursework in Accounting, Auditing, or Finance required.
• Six (6) years of progressively responsible financial or fiscal control work in a hospital setting.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and Pivot Table functions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.

• Position complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and is physically capable of light/moderate lifting up to 20 pounds, standing, walking, and operating office equipment.
