Mobile Service Technician
As a Mobile Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing on-site vehicle maintenance, light repairs, and recall services at customer homes, workplaces, or other designated locations. This role requires strong technical skills, time management, and the ability to work independently while delivering a high level of customer service.
You will represent the dealership in a mobile environment, ensuring each service experience is efficient, professional, and completed to manufacturer and dealership standards. Accuracy in documentation, timely completion of repair orders (ROs), and clear communication with both customers and internal teams are critical to success in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform light maintenance and repair services including oil changes, tire rotations, battery replacements, software updates, and recall repairs.
- Diagnose basic vehicle concerns and determine if repairs can be completed in the field or require shop escalation.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with manufacturer guidelines.
Repair Order (RO) Management:
- Accurately document all services performed, including labor, parts used, and technician notes.
- Complete and close repair orders in a timely manner to support departmental efficiency and reporting.
- Capture and document additional recommendations during the visit to support future service opportunities.
Customer
Experience:
- Provide a professional and friendly customer experience at every service visit.
- Clearly communicate services being performed, timelines, and any additional findings or recommendations.
- Address customer questions or concerns on-site and escalate issues when necessary.
Time & Route Management:
- Follow assigned daily schedules and routes to ensure on-time arrival and efficient service completion.
- Communicate any delays or changes in schedule to the Mobile Service Coordinator promptly.
- Maintain productivity by minimizing downtime between appointments.
Vehicle & Equipment Care:
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper stock levels of the mobile service vehicle.
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and parts are accounted for and in good working condition.
- Follow all safety protocols when operating tools and driving the mobile service vehicle.
Team
Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with the Mobile Service Coordinator, Service Advisors, and Parts Department.
- Provide updates on job status, parts needs, and any issues that may impact service completion.
- Support team goals by maintaining high productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction scores.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Meet or exceed daily and monthly productivity targets
- Maintain accurate and timely RO completion
- Achieve high customer satisfaction (CSI) scores
- Minimize repeat repairs and ensure quality of work
- Be reliable and punctual in managing the schedule and in interactions with both team members and customers.
- Use time effectively to ensure all tasks and objectives are met without unnecessary delays.
