To assist in the operation of a program or multiple projects, exercising independent judgment and authority as required. Responsible for all phases of the programs under the Office of Student Media, including budget recommendations, program selection, staff supervision, and assessment. Actively promotes student engagement and campus life by supporting experiential learning opportunities, fostering student leadership, and encouraging participation in Student Media initiatives.
Descriptionof Duties
- Coordinates program to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives.
- Supervises and manages the day‑to‑day activities and personnel of the newspaper, radio, TV, magazine, and marketing programs within the Office of Student Media.
- Supports student journalists in covering campus events, news, and issues while maintaining editorial independence.
- Assists students with digital media best practices, including basic Search Engine Optimization writing, online publishing, social media content creation, and use of multimedia elements (text, photos, audio, video) across platforms.
- Provides recommendations for future planning and innovation to ensure programs align with institutional goals and enhance the overall student experience.
- Coordinates the various activities of the programs and events that support student engagement and experiential learning initiatives.
- Develops and supervises the implementation of multiple projects or programs.
- Coordinates long and short‑term programs, including performing feasibility studies and estimating the cost of the program. Participates in budget planning and is responsible for controlling expenditures in accordance with budget allocations for the program.
- Assists with the implementation of assessment and evaluation of student media programs and learning outcomes, using data‑driven analysis to improve operations and student development, including leadership, collaboration, professional skills, and career readiness.
- Assists others in writing and developing proposals for funding grants.
- Represents department in official functions.
- Reviews program records and reports of activities and recommends modifications to methods or procedures as required.
- Drafts brochures, letters, agendas, and contracts.
- May plan, develop, organize, and coordinate research and survey designs.
- Attends meetings, conferences, and seminars related to the program’s mission and goals.
- Supervises and organizes seminars, conferences, and presentations.
- Provides appropriate reports as required for the project or program.
- Provides ongoing staff development, on‑site demonstrations and field‑based experiences related to project or program.
- May participate in the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of all assigned staff.
- Coordinates logistics for workshops, trainings, meetings, events, and special projects.
- Conducts formal training or gives instruction regarding program policies and procedures.
- Develops, cultivates, and maintains working relationships with internal/external departments/agencies and other organizations associated with and/or receiving benefit from the program.
- May coordinate and oversee tutorial, counseling, teaching, and/or training activities of the program.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required EducationBachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university.
Preferred EducationBachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communication, Public Relations or related field from an accredited university.
