Department/College Background
The Department of Health & Human Performance in the College of Health Professions is seeking qualified candidates who have a demonstrated record of success in teaching and professional service in the health, health education, health promotion, or public health field that are commensurate with an appointment at the rank of Lecturer I to begin Fall 2026. The position is a nine-month lecturer position.
The responsibilities include participation in scholarly committees and taskforces, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in health education and public health, and performance of other duties assigned by the department chair. Given that UTRGV is a distributed campus, faculty will be required to teach in a variety of settings, incorporating technology and student engaged pedagogies to maximize student success and may be assigned to teach face-to-face, hybrid and/or online courses.
Service to the department, college, university, community, and professional organizations is an integral part of the faculty member's responsibilities.
UTRGV faculty will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to student success and to advancing the university, college and program mission and be committed to UTRGV's guiding principles ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).), which include promoting access to postsecondary education to a diverse student body and to become one of the largest and most successful Hispanic-serving emerging research institutions in the U.S.A.
