The Education Services Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to provide leadership and support in the provision of educational services to children enrolled in Head Start, in accordance with Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers, Head Start Performance Standards, the School Readiness Plan, and the Program’s Policies and Procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, support, and technical assistance to the Center Manager and teaching staff in designing and implementing the Early Childhood Development and Health Services Content Area.
  • Ensure program compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and TDFPS Day Care Licensing Minimum Standards.
  • Maintain staff/child ratios in every classroom.
  • Assist the Education Area Director in planning, coordinating, and conducting annual staff development programs for staff, parents, and volunteers.
  • Support the revision of the Early Childhood Development and Health Services Content Area Program Plan and Procedures Manual.
  • Coordinate with community agencies and resources to enhance educational services.
  • Develop and implement parental involvement activities and parent/teacher conference plans.
  • Complete mandated program evaluation reports and submit license documentation to the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services.
  • Ensure uniformity in program procedures at the center level.
  • Participate in interviews for various staff positions as needed.
  • Plan and conduct the Child Development Associate Credential Program.
  • Provide training workshops for parents and staff, including on LAP-D and other forms or procedures.
  • Evaluate classroom environments and materials, and submit requests for needed resources.
  • Attend staffing meetings and serve as a CDA Advisor for candidates in the CDA program.
  • Participate in required training workshops and adhere to confidentiality policies.
  • Monitor assigned centers biweekly and conduct training as needed.
  • Attend all necessary trainings to ensure compliance with standards during summer months.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, with at least six (6) college credit hours in business management.
  • Knowledge in child development, nutrition, health, special services, social services, and management; CLASS reliable.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience as a supervisor or coach in a Head Start Program.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish); valid Texas motor vehicle operator’s license; automobile and liability insurance for work travel.
  • Applicant must provide copies of diplomas and certificates with the application.
