Scope of JobWe seek applicants dedicated to serving UTRGV's student body as a lecturer in the Department of Literatures & Cultural Studies beginning in the academic year. The candidate may be assigned core curriculum courses across the department's programs, including ENGL, MASC, GWSP, and FILM. Courses may include ENGL 2341 (Introduction to Literature), ENGL 2321 (Introduction to British Literature), ENGL 2326 (Introduction to American Literature), ENGL 1305 (Writing Cultural Studies), MASC 2301 (Introduction to Mexican American Studies), GWSP 1301 (Introduction to Gender Studies), GWSP 2301 (Concepts in Gender and Sexuality), and FILM 2312 (History of Film).
Teaching may be assigned in any modality, at any UTRGV campus. Dual enrollment courses may be assigned at Harlingen Collegiate High School, Edinburg Collegiate High School, McAllen Collegiate High School, or Brownsville Early College High School.
Qualified candidates will hold an M.A. in English, Cultural Studies, Ethnic Studies, or Comparative Literature with at least 18 hours of graduate credit in English or related fields (Literature, Linguistics, Reading, ESL).
