Primary Purpose

Direct and manage the instructional program and supervise operations and personnel at campus level. Provide leadership to ensure high standards of instructional service, oversee compliance with district policies, and ensure the success of instructional programs and campus activities.

Qualifications
  • Education/Certification:

    TEA certification requirements;
    Master’s degree in Educational Administration;
    Texas Mid‑management or other appropriate Texas certificate;
    Certified Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T‑TESS) Appraiser.
  • Special Knowledge/

    Skills:

    Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction; ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness; ability to manage budget and personnel; ability to coordinate campus functions; ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data; strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience:

    Three years of classroom teacher experience required;
    Three years of administrative experience required.
Major Responsibilities and Duties Instructional Management
  • Monitor instructional and managerial processes to ensure program activities align with outcomes and use findings to take corrective actions.
  • Consult regularly with the campus‑level committee about planning, operation, supervision, and evaluation of campus education programs.
  • Include students, parents, and community representatives in the school planning process when appropriate.
School or Organization Morale
  • Provide instructional resources and materials to support teaching staff in achieving instructional goals.
  • Foster collegiality among staff and encourage their active involvement in decision making.
  • Maintain two‑way communication with superintendent, staff, students, parents, and community.
  • Communicate and promote high‑level performance expectations to the school community.
  • Recognize excellence and achievement.
  • Resolve conflicts effectively and efficiently.
  • Use sensitivity and fairness with persons from diverse cultural backgrounds.
School or Organization Improvement
  • Build a common vision for school improvement with staff.
  • Direct planning activities and implement programs to ensure attainment of the school's mission.
  • Identify, analyze and apply research findings to promote school improvement.
  • Develop and set annual campus performance objectives for each Academic Excellence Indicator.
  • Maintain information systems and records to show campus progress on performance objectives.
  • Interview, recommend, and orient new staff; approve all personnel assigned to campus.
  • Define expectations for staff performance regarding instructional strategies, classroom management, communication, and professional development.
  • Observe employee performance, record observations, and conduct evaluation conferences.
  • Assign campus personnel as needed and make recommendations on termination, suspension or non‑renewal.
  • Plan professional development activities with campus‑level committees.
  • Support subordinates in professional growth and develop improvement goals collaboratively.
Management of Fiscal, Administrative and Facilities Functions
  • Comply with district policies, state and federal laws affecting schools.
  • Develop campus budgets based on documented program needs and maintain fiscal control.
  • Compile and maintain accurate reports, records, and documents on a timely basis.
  • Supervise maintenance of facilities to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe campus.
Student Management
  • Collaborate with the school community to develop a discipline management system that promotes positive behavior.
  • Ensure uniform enforcement of school rules and equitable discipline in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Conduct conferences related to student or school issues with parents, students, teachers, and other personnel as needed.
