CHILDREN'S SUPERVISOR

City of Edinburg in Edinburg, TX is actively seeking a dedicated Children’s Supervisor to organize and maintain the Children’s library collection and programs.

As a Children’s Supervisor, you assist in the supervision of employees and volunteers. You manage and maintain the children’s collection of materials, assist with budget and long-range planning, conduct library tours, arrange school class visits, plan story time and crafts, provide information on library programs, and collaborate with other library staff and local organizations to develop programs and services. You stay prepared for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city, including attending seminars and events to stay current with the latest developments and technologies.

• Bachelor Degree in related field
  • Preferred:
    Master's Degree in Library Science from an institution accredited by the American Library Association
  • Additional education and experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted for the above requirements
• Requires one (1) year with library experience in Children’s area
  • Preferred:
    Three (3) years' experience in related field
• Three (3) years of supervisory experience
• Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record.
• Applicant must take and pass a pre-employment drug test administered by the City of Edinburg at the City's expense.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
