The Department of Counseling at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) may have the need to hire non‑tenure track, part‑time Lecturers to teach in the Master of Education in Counseling program for the academic year 2026‑2027. Responsibilities include delivering quality instruction within the program.

• Master’s degree in counseling or a related field of study from an accredited institution.
• Licensure and/or school counseling certification.
• Years of experience in the area of course content.
• Meet SACSCOS primary or alternate qualifications (e.g., licensure and/or school counseling certification, 5 years of experience in course content) to teach certain counseling courses.

Part‑time Lecturers are paid per course taught, commensurate with experience and/or qualifications.

Position may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security sensitive and is subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215.
Retirement plan:
Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
Option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
