Scope of JobWe seek applicants who are dedicated to serving the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s student body as a Lecturer within the Department of Health and Human Performance beginning in the 2027‑2028 academic year. This in‑person teaching position is located at the Edinburg campus.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate courses in kinesiology or exercise science.
- Serve as field supervisor for practicums.
- Act as a student academic advisor.
- Participate on university, college, and departmental committees and task forces.
- Engage in community and professional service activities.
- Perform other duties assigned by the department chair.
- Teach in various instructional formats (face‑to‑face, hybrid, online) as required by the distributed campus.
- Earned master’s or doctoral degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Exercise Science, or a related field from an accredited university.
- Record of success in teaching.
- Service record in the professional field.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in kinesiology or exercise science preferred.
- Experience teaching at the college level or K‑12 school level with demonstrated excellence using varied teaching modalities.
- Service record in the professional field.
- College‑level teaching experience.
- K‑12 teaching experience with teacher certification.
- Active participation in professional organizations.
- Experience in curriculum development.
- Ability to teach a variety of lecture and activity courses in kinesiology.
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
License or Certification RequiredNo.
