Salary:
This is a 12-month, full-time, 232-day position with an annual salary range of $73,132 to $90,408.

Work independently under the supervision of the Social Studies Content Coordinator to provide support in the statewide development of content‑specific TEKS Resource System curriculum components, including all related documents, products, and services such as assessment, resources, and professional development

The strongest candidates have built a career in curriculum, assessment, or educational program leadership. Their professional experience demonstrates sustained responsibility for developing instructional materials, leading curriculum initiatives, managing complex projects, and supporting educators beyond a single classroom or campus.

• Holding primary responsibility for social studies curriculum or assessment development serving multiple campuses, districts, regions, or statewide users.
• Leading major curriculum, assessment, or instructional resource initiatives from initial design through review, publication, implementation, and revision.
• Developing coherent systems of curriculum and assessment rather than isolated lessons, units, or classroom materials.
• Writing, editing, and approving social studies resources intended for formal adoption or broad organizational use.
• Establishing development standards, templates, review processes, and quality‑control expectations for instructional content.
• Directing the work of contractors, content writers, reviewers, vendors, or cross‑functional project teams.
• Managing concurrent, long‑term projects with organizational deadlines, dependencies, approval processes, and accountability for final deliverables.
• Translating state standards, assessment frameworks, legislation, policy, and agency guidance into district, regional, or statewide curriculum and assessment systems.
• Providing social studies leadership, professional learning, and technical assistance across multiple schools or districts.
• Analyzing curriculum, assessment, implementation, or performance data to guide decisions affecting programs beyond a single campus.
• Producing publication‑ready instructional and technical writing requiring accuracy, consistency, documentation, and editorial judgment.
• Using technology and artificial intelligence to improve large‑scale content development, review, research, workflow, and knowledge management.

• Texas Teacher Certification in content area
• Strong understanding of and experience with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) state standards, including corresponding grade band ELPS, CCRS, etc.
• Extensive knowledge of K-12 social studies curriculum and instruction trends, technology, assessment and school systems
• Five years of classroom teaching experience in content area
• Familiarity with cloud‑based productivity suites, online curriculum platforms, and other content‑specific software

• Master's or advanced degree in curriculum, assessment, or a content‑related field
• Curriculum and assessment leadership experience at the campus, district, regional, and/or state level
• TEKS Resource System curriculum development or implementation experience

• Serve as a representative of the Texas Curriculum Management Program Cooperative (TCMPC) and ESC Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public
