The University College at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley(UTRGV) is seeking applications for a Part-Time (adjunct) Lecturer to teach UNIV 1001 / UNIV 1300 - Living and Working by Design. Thisfirst-year course, which is a part of UTRGV’s Student Success and Retention Initiatives, explores human-centered design strategies tohelp students reimagine their possible futures by reflecting on and planning their lives, degrees, and careers.
Through readings,experiential learning, collaborative problem-solving, and the prototyping of pathways, students will learn how to combine their goals for life, degree, and career in innovative and insightfulways.
The position is a part-time appointment beginning in the Fall of2026. The selected applicant(s) may teach multiple sections of UNIV
1001 and/or UNIV 1300. S/He could teach on the Edinburg and/or Brownsville campuses. The applicant(s) will also participate inmandatory professional development, maintain appropriate officehours, and fulfill other responsibilities required of a part-time lecturer at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

Minimum Qualifications:Applicant must have a Master's degree from an accredited university and at least 1 year of experience helping students make the transition to college and explore potential career pathways and knowledge of best practices for working with first year studentsgained through professional development in first year experience ordesign theory andor relevant coursework.
