Job Description & How to Apply Below
  • Campus-based position at the Alpha School in Brownsville, TX
  • W2 salary of $100,000/year, with weekly pay. Full health benefits start on day one.
  • Relocation assistance available for a one-school-year on-campus commitment

You've built your career around coaching young people — not instructing them. You understand the distinction: coaching means building connection, setting high expectations, and refusing to accept anything less than a student's full potential. Instruction is about delivering information. You've never been an information delivery mechanism.

Alpha operates one of the most unconventional educational models you'll encounter. Students don't sit in traditional rows listening to lectures. They progress through AI-driven learning platforms at individualized paces. The AI manages academic instruction. Your responsibility is to facilitate life skills workshops that command the attention of K-8 students, lead motivation sessions that drive them toward weekly learning targets, and maintain standards when a student attempts to disengage.

Academic progress is automated. You manage the human dimension.

This position offers a meaningful growth trajectory, and that trajectory is defined by deeper student outcomes. Those who consistently achieve their metrics (100% cohort attainment of weekly app targets, satisfaction scores above 90%) advance into Lead Guide positions where they train other educators to execute this model effectively. Students remain the central focus.

The campus sits in Brownsville, adjacent to SpaceX's Starbase facility. If your motivation for leaving your current position is the mission — transforming what a young person believes about their own capacity — rather than adding a line to your CV,

What You Will Be Doing
  • Facilitating one-hour life skills workshops for K-8 students on topics including public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback exchange
  • Administering Test2

Pass mastery assessments following each workshop to verify students have internalized the skill, not merely attended the session
  • Leading daily motivation sessions informed by student profiles, personal interests, and Coachbot analytics to ensure 100% of your cohort reaches their weekly app progression goals
  • Leveraging storytelling, incentive structures (school currency, leaderboards), and individual relationships to overcome student reluctance
  • Monitoring cohort satisfaction scores with a target of 90%+ on student surveys
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Lecturing from the front of a classroom. Students progress academically via self-directed AI-powered platforms, not through direct instruction from you.
  • Supervising children on devices passively. The setting involves students using computers; the role demands active facilitation.
  • Compromising standards when students resist. Test2

Pass expectations remain consistent, even when a student faces a difficult week.
  • Creating original curriculum. Lesson frameworks and workshop guides are supplied; your responsibility is to execute them with the presence and narrative skill that ensures genuine student comprehension.
  • Handling parent communications, admissions processes, or campus administration. Those functions belong to other roles.
