We seek applicants who are dedicated to serving The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's student body as an Assistant Professor of Practice within The Department of Health and Human Performance (HHP) beginning in the  academic year. This is an in-person position of instruction with a home base campus (Brownsville).

The Department of Health & Human Performance in the College of Health Professions is seeking qualified candidates who have a demonstrated record of success in scholarly activity, teaching, and professional service in the health, health education, health promotion, or public health field that are commensurate with an appointment as Assistant Professor of Practice to begin Fall 2026. The position is a nine-month, non-tenure-track faculty position.

The responsibilities include participation in scholarly committees and taskforces, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in health education and public health, and performance of other duties assigned by the department chair. Given that UTRGV is a distributed campus, faculty will be required to teach in various settings, incorporating technology and student-engaged pedagogies to maximize student success, and may be assigned to teach face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online courses.

Service to the department, college, university, community, and professional organizations is integral to the faculty member's responsibilities.
