Job Summary

Drive the development and expansion of college and career pathways for students, schools, and districts by proactively identifying funding sources, authoring grant proposals, and cultivating strategic partnerships with industry leaders. Lead and manage large-scale regional Career and Technical Education (CTE) projects, including grants and contracts through cross-functional collaboration with internal teams, school districts, campus personnel, higher education institutions, workforce boards, and industry stakeholders.

Champion equitable access by ensuring all school districts have the resources and support needed to deliver robust college and career opportunities.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Valid Texas Career and Technical Education (CTE) certification
At least five years of experience teaching secondary CTE courses
A minimum of two years of experience leading CTE projects at the district, regional, state, or national level

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in education, leadership, or a related field
Proven project management experience, including planning, execution, and evaluation of educational initiatives
Experience collaborating with government agencies, non-profit organizations, and industry partners on educational or workforce initiatives
Experience partnering with institutions of higher education to develop or implement programs
Experience engaging with CTE directors and superintendents to advance district or regional goals

Knowledge and Skills

In-depth knowledge of CTE pathways, higher education, industry partnerships, workforce development, work-based learning, curriculum design, instructional strategies, and assessment methodologies, and accountability requirements
Strong understanding of student development, as well as best practices for supporting both teachers and adult learners
Demonstrated expertise in initiating and successfully launching new projects and programs
Thorough understanding of the grant writing process for state and federal funding opportunities
Demonstrated ability to develop, manage, and monitor budgets and financial resources effectively
Comprehensive knowledge in managing both self-directed work and supervising teams to achieve project goals
Comprehensive knowledge of designing and delivering professional development to adults, utilizing effective presentation and facilitation skills
Comprehensive knowledge of Texas accountability systems and CCMR expectations

Major Responsibilities

Serve as a representative of ESC Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public
Lead and supervise the ESC Region 13 College and Career Readiness (CCR) team, ensuring effective work assignment distribution and goal attainment.
Research, identify, and spearhead the application process for new CTE, higher education, and workforce grant opportunities to enhance student postsecondary and career outcomes.
Cultivate and strengthen regional partnerships with industry leaders, institutions of higher education (IHEs), workforce boards, economic development organizations, school districts, philanthropic organizations, and donors to broaden college and career opportunities for ESC Region 13 students.
Manage and oversee the Apple philanthropic project portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and successful project delivery.
Administer federal and state Perkins grants, maintaining compliance and maximizing impact on CTE programming.
Direct College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) accountability support initiatives across the region.
Oversee CCR-related contracts and monitor contractor performance to ensure deliverables and outcomes are met.
Initiate, implement, and evaluate CCR grant programs, using data-driven approaches for continuous improvement.
Lead the development and execution of K-12 career exploration programming in collaboration with regional partners and the mobile lab, ensuring access to innovative learning experiences.
