Job Summary
We are seeking a SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST to support executive decision‑making through complex financial analysis and reporting. This full‑time, exempt position (FLSA) is based in Edinburg, Texas.
Scope of WorkProvide support for executive decision‑making by conducting complex financial analysis, preparing and presenting reports, and optimizing resource allocation at the institution.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare periodic financial reports and respond to requests from state, federal, and external organizations.
- Analyze financial accounting and performance data, summary reports, and specialized cost studies.
- Prepare long‑term financial plans and reports for senior management.
- Examine historical and projected financial data to provide valuable insights for financial decisions.
- Conduct financial feasibility studies and produce specialized reports summarizing financial activities.
- Coordinate and prepare budgets and budget forecasts for various areas.
- Interpret compliance with applicable rules, policies, and regulations and recommend policy adjustments or new policies.
- Participate in professional associations related to state government, higher education, or financial analysis and resource allocation.
- Coordinate and complete institutionally significant, complex projects assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- General direction from the assigned supervisor.
- Supervises assigned staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration from an accredited university.
- Four (4) years of experience in finance or accounting with planning, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in PCs and integrated computer systems, advanced skills in spreadsheet and data‑manipulation software, and standard office equipment.

- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and multi‑tasking skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information to audiences with varying levels of knowledge.
- Task‑oriented with demonstrated problem‑solving skills, effective time management, and accuracy under time constraints.
- Ability to interpret and implement complex rules and regulations.
Indoor office environment. May require some weekend and/or evening work or travel.
