POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Manager provides operational oversight of administrative projects with the guidance of the executive sponsor. The manager is expected to evaluate, analyze, plan, implement, track and complete projects of varying length, purpose and complexity. The manager is responsible for completing administrative projects in various areas such as: governance, medical staff development, operations, managed care, ambulatory care, policy, finance, planning and marketing.

The Project Manager works closely with the executive team throughout the system and conducts these assignments in a manner that allows Administration to meet performance goals and objectives in an efficient and timely manner by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities.

POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Required:

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university or certification in Project Management in lieu of a bachelor's degree. Certificate may be from any recognized professional designated organization.
  • Desired: MHA, MBA with an emphasis in healthcare management, or advanced medical degree.
• Position requires travel, valid driver's license and vehicle insurance are required

JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
  • Four (4) years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency Internet research.
  • Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel required. VISIO and Access proficiency are a plus.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices and workforce development experience is desired.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Must maintain a high standard of confidentiality and honesty.
  • Ability to draft plans using original or innovative techniques or style.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or staff.
  • Ability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Must work effectively as a team member, with management staff and must be able to work independently and/or unsupervised.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, ability to work as part of a team, excellent organization and problem solving skills, ability to assume initiative required.
  • Solid judgment in decision-making, ability to act with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally as well as through written & electronic communication.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to attain performance levels and meet goals and objectives in a work environment characterized by constant change and demanding workloads.

Responsibilities:

POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others. Considers mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practices.
  • Seeks input on each project from all appropriate individuals and entities, including other Senior Leadership staff, the organization's mandatory partners, community based organizations, the general public, training vendors, etc.
  • Manages projects with various departments, administrative support staff, and external entities as assigned to make the best use of company resources.
  • May develop strategic and technical plans and budgets required to complete assigned projects.
  • Manages periodic administrative meetings of all appropriate staff to discuss the project plans, MIS issues, financial reporting, progress, etc.
  • Develops mechanisms to track the implementation of each project and distributes appropriate project management reports outlining the implementation, status updates and resulting outcomes.
  • Keeps the project executive sponsor apprised of the progress and roadblocks encountered on each project.
  • Evaluate the planning for and implementation of the projects.
  • Follows up on issues and concerns in order to ensure that DHR carries out its mission within prescribed time frames, funding parameters and organizational priorities.
