CULTURAL VENUES SUPERVISOR

A Day in the LifeOversee and manage day‑to‑day facility and venue operations for the Cultural Arts Division Venues Program, including the Arts, Culture & Events Center, Municipal Auditorium, Activity Center, Fountain Center, City Hall Courtyard, Promenade Park Amphitheater, and additional indoor and outdoor venues. Ensure venues are fully operational, safely maintained, properly staffed, and prepared to support rentals, programs, rehearsals, performances, meetings and special events.
Enforce policies related to building use, safety, rentals and asset protection. Supervise, train, schedule and evaluate venue staff, delegate duties and resolve operational issues. Maintain the official calendar of rentals, programs, rehearsals and events, ensuring accurate scheduling and coordination. Collect and report monthly facility usage, rentals and monitor venue‑related budgets and rental revenue performance. Assist supervising staff with identifying funding needs and supporting ongoing facility upkeep and improvements.
- Required
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Art/Arts Administration, Public Administration, Event Management, Facilities Management or related field. - Education Preference: Master’s degree in Public Administration, Arts Administration, Facilities Management, Event Management or related field.
- Educational Substitute: Associate’s degree plus five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in venue operations, facilities management, or event operations may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.

Work Experience:
Three (3) years of progressively responsible, professional‑level experience in facility operations, venue management, event operations, or a closely related field. - Experience Preference: Five (5) years of progressively responsible, professional‑level experience in facility operations, venue management, event operations, or a closely related field.
- Supervisory Experience
Required:
Two (2) years of supervisory experience. - Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Valid class "C" driver's license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
