DHR Health invites a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive wound‑care nursing for our inpatient unit. The selected nurse will administer patient‑centered care, coordinate interdisciplinary efforts, and support the organization’s mission of excellence in every patient encounter.

• Perform family‑centered, evidence‑based care following the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Implement physician orders accurately and safely.
• Assist with patient admission, discharge, and transfer.
• Maintain detailed, accurate nursing records and provide patient‑status reports during shift changes.
• Administer medications and therapeutic interventions within scope of practice.
• Create, modify, and implement goal‑oriented care plans in accordance with facility policies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure effective patient‑care delivery.
• Support patient education, counseling, and emotional support for patients and families.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment for patients and coworkers.
• Provide direction to non‑licensed nursing staff.
• Offer flexibility in schedule and adapt to unit needs, including weekend and holiday coverage.
• Participate in unit‑based councils, hospital committees, and mandatory meetings.
• Adhere to the Nurse Practice Act of Texas, ANA standards, and institutional policies.
• Report clinical limitations or need for assistance to supervisor.
• Perform duties related to organ procurement as required.
• Contribute to a positive work environment by guiding employees and encouraging teamwork.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current Texas registered‑nurse license.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• ABWH Certified Skin and Wound Specialist preferred within 12 months of hire.
• Strong clinical background in wound care preferred.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills in English (verbal, written) and computer proficiency.
• Other relevant certifications or competencies.

Ability to practice nursing in accordance with the American Nurses Association definition of the core of practice for the registered nurse. Demonstrated use of nursing process, medication administration, diagnostic interpretation, care planning, provider collaboration, and patient education.

• Demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development across the lifespan; assess age‑appropriate patient data.
• Provide excellent customer service; attend the DHR C.A.R.E.S. program outlining Commitment, Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Service.
• Meet physical demands: lift up to 20 lbs light/moderate, kneel, assist with lifting >20 lbs, walk, carry up to 20 lbs, pull hand‑over‑hand, push, perform repeated bending, reach above shoulder, climb ladders, dual simultaneous grasping, depth perception, operate office and mechanical equipment, read/write, count, hear verbal communication, operate personal vehicle, handle stress.
• Adhere to OSHA Category III.
• Comply with American Disabilities Act requirements.
