Job Purpose:
To cut and prepare various types of meat and poultry products for sale in a retail or wholesale environment, ensuring quality, freshness, and customer satisfaction while adhering to food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and store meat deliveries, ensuring proper temperature control and quality.
Cut, trim, and prepare various cuts of meat and poultry according to customer specifications or established standards, utilizing knives, saws, and other equipment.
Grind meats, prepare sausages, and create other value-added meat products as required.
Weigh, package, and label meat products accurately for display and sale.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to strict sanitation and food safety guidelines.
Provide excellent customer service, answering questions about different cuts of meat and offering recommendations.
Rotate stock to minimize waste and ensure product freshness.
Follow all company policies and procedures regarding food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety.
May assist in training new meat cutters.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Additional Duties:
Management reserves the right to assign additional tasks as necessary to support store operations. Employees will be provided with proper training and protective equipment for any and all assigned tasks that require special handling.
Required
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Required Experience:
Minimum of 6 months experience in meat cutting or a related field.
Required
Skills and Abilities:
18 years or older
Knowledge of various cuts of meat and meat preparation techniques.
Ability to operate and maintain meat cutting equipment (e.g., band saws, grinders, slicers).Skill in following safe food handling practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production goals.
Strong attention to detail and quality.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
Required

Food Handlers Certification (required)
