As a Security Officer - Access Control Day Shifts in Edinburg, TX
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy food and beverage location where you will be the first point of contact for access control. As a Security Officer, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, issue visitor passes, and maintain clear logs and communications. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support operations with friendly customer service grounded in integrity and teamwork.

- Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and employees by following site-specific access control procedures, verifying identification, and documenting entries and exits.
- Monitor and control access at gates, entrances, and restricted production or warehouse areas, helping to deter unauthorized access and/or tailgating.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, problem-solving manner, including notifying site leadership and/or emergency services per post orders.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, including the exterior perimeter and key interior areas such as docks, staging zones, and parking areas, as permitted by the post assignment.
- Complete security-related reports such as incident logs, visitor and vehicle logs, and shift activity documentation, and communicate relevant observations during shift turnover.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Background investigation will be conducted in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Drug screen will be performed to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
