Assigned to the Office of Intelligence, Security Division. Oversee implementation of programs and policies related to Personnel Security (PERSEC), Information Security (INFOSEC), Physical Security, Communications Security (COMSEC) and Facilities and Emergency Preparedness. Salary: $89,508 (GS‑12, Step 1) – $138,370 (GS‑13, Step 10).
- Assist in maintenance of personnel security records.
- Conduct Special Compartmented Information (SCI) briefings/debriefings for cleared personnel.
- Make independent technical judgments concerning the interpretation and implementation of existing security procedures.
- Serve as Communications Security (COMSEC)/Top Secret Special Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Manager, safeguarding and accounting for TOP SECRET COMSEC material.
- Provide advice, assistance, and guidance on complex physical security matters concerning the integrity of the Special Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).
- U.S. citizen required.
- Male applicants born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with Selective Service.
- Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years.
- Pre‑employment background investigation required.
- Job performed in English.
- Knowledge of CBP Drug‑Free Workplace Plan and government ethics rules.
- Must not be covered by a bargaining unit.
- GS‑12: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, including interpreting legislation and developing internal security programs for SCI operations.
- GS‑13: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, providing SCI briefings, managing SCI administrative actions, and serving as a security advisor to federal agencies.
- Experience may include volunteer work in national service programs such as Peace Corps or Ameri Corps.
- Must meet all education and time‑in‑grade requirements (current federal employees must have 52 weeks at the next lower grade).
- Political appointees with a schedule A, schedule C, non‑career SES or presidential appointment within the last five years must disclose this information.
- Background investigation covering felony criminal convictions, drug use, and controlled substance use.
