Water Maintenance Technician – City of Edinburg, TX

The City of Edinburg is seeking a dedicated Water Maintenance Technician to perform the operation, construction, and maintenance of water systems, meters, and water lines. • Maintain grounds and landscaping for city facilities
• Respond to customer complaints and dispatch to appropriate service crew
• Transport and dispose of sludge as required
• Assist other crews with construction and maintenance projects
• Perform routine equipment and vehicle maintenance and repair
• Operate construction equipment such as backhoes, excavators, and pressure washers
• Assist with traffic control during crew activities, including setting up signs, cones, and flags
• Support other city departments as needed to ensure smooth operations

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent (required)
• California or equivalent Class “C” driver’s license (required)
• Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a tank endorsement to be obtained within one year of employment (required)
• TCEQ Class “D” Water Distribution License within one year of employment (required)
• TCEQ Class “C” Water Distribution License within three years of employment (required)
• Preferred: “B” or “A” certification in Surface Water or a “B” Water Distribution license from TCEQ
• Preferred:
  One year of experience in water line maintenance and repair (experience not required for entry level)
