Heavy Equipment-Head Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Repair equipment and components.
• Develop a repair plan and sequence.
• Determine necessary parts, materials, tooling, etc.
• Perform repairs properly and safely, with quality assurance testing of repair component or system and machine.
• Maintain and complete all necessary reports legibly and timely for parts ordering, special tooling usage, daily service reports, and work order closure.
• Communicate progress of repair with direct supervisor as required.
• Retrieve and return parts and/or materials through the company’s parts ordering system.
• Retrieve and return special tools through the company’s Tool Room; maintain proper care and use of special tools including major shop equipment such as air compressors, cleaning tanks, overhead and jib cranes, etc.
• Use company vehicle, service truck, and fuel cards properly, including notifying supervisor immediately of any vehicle issues.
• Maintain the work area and/or service vehicle in a safe and clean manner.
• Maintain tools and tool carrier in a safe, productive, and updated manner.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.
