Building Maintenance, Maintenance Worker
Water Maintenance Technician – City of Edinburg, Edinburg, TX
Perform operations, construction, and maintenance of water systems, meters, and water lines. - Maintain grounds and landscaping.
- Respond to customer complaints.
- Transport sludge and assist other crews.
- Perform equipment and vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Operate construction-related equipment to maintain city structures.
- Assist with traffic control by setting up signs, cones, and flags.
- Support other divisions within the department as needed.
- Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalency required.
- Education Preference: “B” or “A” Certification in Surface Water or “B” Water Distribution License from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
- Work Experience: No experience required.
- Experience Preference: One year of water line maintenance and repair.
- Current valid Class “C” driver’s license from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
- Achieve Class “B” CDL with a tank endorsement within the first year of employment.
- Achieve TCEQ Class “D” Water Distribution License within the first year of employment.
- Achieve TCEQ Class “C” Water Distribution License within three years of employment.
Excellent knowledge of sanitary sewer collection system infrastructure, proficiency with power tools, strong teamwork skills, and dependability are essential qualities for this role.
