Job Details

Early Years Practitioner – fixed term until 25/09/2026 at St Mark's Early Learning and Childcare.

Salary: £29,173 – £33,287.

Hours:

36 per week, 52 weeks.

Working week:
Monday to Friday with shifts varying between 7:45 am and 6 pm. The role is primarily set in our Terrific 2’s playroom.

  • Demonstrate experience in forming good relationships with children, parents, staff and the wider community.
  • Show enthusiasm, energy, commitment, initiative, optimism and flexibility in work.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Eligible for registration (without conditions) with the SSSC as a Practitioner in Day Care of Children.
  • Hold the relevant practice qualification as specified in the attached job profile.
  • Capable of working the required shift patterns.
Professional Standards & Checks

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If the candidate has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.

Successful completion of these pre‑employment checks is mandatory for an unconditional offer and commencement.
