Overview
Rockwood House is a Cross Reach residential children’s service supporting children and young people within a safe, stable and nurturing environment. The service works in a relational and trauma-aware way, helping children and young people experience consistency, care and positive relationships.
As a Residential Children’s Worker, you will provide direct, relationship-based care as part of a supportive team. You will help create a calm, structured and therapeutic environment where children and young people feel safe, understood and supported in their day-to-day lives.
What You Will Do- Provide consistent, nurturing care to support children’s emotional, physical and behavioural needs
- Build trusting relationships through a relational and trauma-aware approach
- Support daily routines, activities and individual care plans
- Undertake keyworker responsibilities and contribute to care and risk planning
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to meetings and reviews
- Promote a safe, clean and welcoming living environment
- Work a rota that includes evenings, weekends and sleepovers
You are patient, reliable and committed to supporting children and young people within a residential care setting. You may already have experience in care, education or a related field, or be motivated to develop a career in residential childcare. You will bring a calm, reflective approach, good communication skills and a willingness to learn and develop.
You will need to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and work towards the required qualifications of HNC Social Care and SVQ Level 3, with support provided. This role is subject to PVG checks.
HoursWe would consider candidates looking to work 16–32 hours per week and are open to discussion at interview about the hours you are able to commit to.
