Part Time One Square Host

We are currently recruiting for a Part Time Host to join our One Square Food & Beverage Team at the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, working 20 hours over 2 days (mostly weekends).

The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa is located in the heart of Edinburgh’s financial and tourist area. It is one of Scotland’s leading 5‑star hotels, with 269 bedrooms and large banquet and meeting facilities that can accommodate up to 500 guests.

• Greet guests and determine the size of their party.
• Seat guests based on booking information, placing a clean/current menu in front of each guest.
• Guide guests through dining rooms, provide assistance, move and arrange tables and chairs, and organize seating for groups with special needs.
• Ensure place settings are appropriate with napkins, correct silverware, and all standard items.
• Check menus to ensure they are current, clean, plentiful, and wrinkle‑free.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas, practicing clean‑as‑you‑go procedures and the hotel’s cleanliness standards.
• Monitor reservations for seating availability, service, safety, and guest wellbeing.
• Provide barista service to guests in the lounge.

• Natural confidence, outgoing and extroverted personality.
• Passionate about ensuring guests have an enjoyable experience and possess a “can do” attitude.
• Experience in high‑pressure, high‑volume environments; able to think and act on the feet.
• Fluent spoken and written English and a good telephone manner.
• Advanced computer skills and sound knowledge of Opentable and Outlook.
• Previous F&B serving and barista skills are preferred.
• Flexible approach towards hours.
