ABOUT THE ROSEATE EDINBURGH
The Roseate Edinburgh is an intimate five-star luxury boutique hotel and proud member of the Small Luxury Hotels Collection, ideally situated just five minutes from Haymarket railway station and less than 20 minutes from Edinburgh Airport. The hotel features 35 bespoke guest bedrooms and suites, a bar and restaurant, meeting room, lounge, conservatory and private gardens.
With characterful, evocative interiors inspired by the neoclassical design of old-town Edinburgh, the hotel exudes timeless, understated charm and elegance. At its heart, the bar is an intimate destination for guests and visitors alike, renowned for its curated drinks offering, warm hospitality and an atmosphere that captures the authentic spirit of the Scottish capital.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a talented and passionate Bartender to join the Food & Beverage team at The Roseate Edinburgh. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our guest experience crafting exceptional cocktails and drinks, delivering impeccable five-star service, and contributing to the bars reputation as one of Edinburghs finest hotel bars.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Experience & Service
Deliver warm, personalised and five-star service to every guest, ensuring each visit to the bar is a memorable experience
Take food and beverage orders with precision, offering knowledgeable recommendations from the cocktail menu, wine list, and full beverage offering
Build genuine rapport with guests, anticipating preferences and cultivating long-term relationships that encourage repeat visits
Maintain an engaging, welcoming atmosphere that reflects the hotels luxury positioning and authentic Scottish character
Mixology & Product Knowledge Prepare and present cocktails, classic drinks, and bespoke creations to the highest standard of quality and presentation
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the cocktail menu, wine list, spirits portfolio, and current beverage trends
Contribute to seasonal menu development and cocktail innovation alongside the bar leadership team
Ensure all beverages are served efficiently and in accordance with the bars standards of presentation
Operations & Standards
Ensure the bar is immaculately prepared and set up prior to each service, and properly closed down at the end of each shift
Carry out cash handling, stock control, and end-of-shift reconciliation in accordance with company policy
Uphold all health and safety, food hygiene, and licensing regulations at all times
Support the training and mentoring of junior bar team members, championing consistency in service and product delivery
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
Minimum of two years bartender experience within a four- or five-star hotel, luxury bar, or premium cocktail lounge
Strong mixology skills and a demonstrable knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails
Excellent wine and spirits knowledge with a genuine passion for the craft
Outstanding guest-facing communication skills with a warm, confident, and engaging personality
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to five-star service standards
Ability to multi-task calmly and professionally in a fast-paced luxury environment
Excellent personal presentation and fluency in English
Desirable
Barista skills and experience with speciality coffee service
Wine or spirits qualifications (e.g. WSET Level 2 or above)
Knowledge of Scottish whisky and local produce to enhance the guest experience
Additional language skills to complement our international guest profile
