Grade UE04: £26,093 to £28,778 per annum.

Corporate Services Group / Edinburgh Research Office

Full time: 35 hours per week

Open ended: Permanent

This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Grants Support Officer to gain experience in a research finance environment and to assist in the provision of a comprehensive and effective post award administration service for externally funded research projects. This role underpins the administrative support to the research grants team: using the People and Money system to process transactions, manage the team mailboxes/call management system for queries and support, and assist with funder audits.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering flexible working patterns. We offer hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working (Tuesday/Wednesday in the office as a minimum).

Your Skills And Attributes For Success
  • A positive, open-minded and enthusiastic attitude
  • Ability to prioritise and manage your own workload, work under pressure to tight deadlines, and cope with conflicting demands with high volumes of work
  • High level of numeracy with good attention to detail
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and also under their own initiative as required
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • A finance background is desirable but not essential
  • Good knowledge of Excel, MS Office and other IT skills
