General Glasshouse Horticulturalist

Rothamsted Research is seeking to appoint a General Horticultural Assistant to join the Horticultural and Controlled Environments team. Working flexibility with the team the role will provide outstanding service support to our science community. The specific duties within this role include;

• Horticultural e.g. seed sowing, potting, daily watering and general care of plants.
• Cleaning plant growing facilities and other associated areas.
• Application of pest and disease management techniques including spraying pesticides.
• Supply of composts, other media and consumables.
• Accurate record keeping.

The post holder is required to be part of the team that provides watering support during the weekend, typically 1 in 5 and to be available to cover bank holidays, Easter and Christmas cover, (extra payment provided).

This is a full time position, initially on a 3 year contract, attracting a starting salary in the range of £23,493.00 (grade

B).
