Responsibilities- Deliver some of the most challenging, diverse and innovative infrastructure projects, including water, highway, rail and energy schemes.
- Work on a combination of desk‑based and site‑based tasks.
- Apply expertise in protected species survey, Ecological Clerk of Works, Environmental Impact Assessment, Habitats Regulations Assessment and/or Biodiversity Net Gain.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, building rapport and ensuring terrestrial ecology requirements are recognised and addressed.
- Design ecological monitoring programmes, develop survey plans, lead and/or manage survey teams, and ensure high‑quality data collection.
- Act as the first point of contact to provide expert advice to clients and stakeholders.
- Mentor others and share skills through global communities of practice, external presentations, conferences and training events.
- Advance within one of two career pathways: line‑management or technical expertise.
- Background in terrestrial ecology with significant industry experience.
- Full membership (or experience to obtain full membership) of a relevant professional body.
- Experience running ecological inputs on medium‑to‑large scale projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- High level of personal responsibility and independence.
- Current and full driving licence.
- Technical specialism in terrestrial ecology, or a broad ecological background with the ability to quickly develop new interests.
