About This OpportunityFully funded University of Edinburgh PhD studentship investigating environmental and health impacts of titanium ore deposits near mining operations.
This University of Edinburgh PhD project examines the environmental and health impacts of titanium dioxide and toxic metal exposure in a community near titanium mining operations. The project will characterise particulate pollution, establish titanium isotopic fingerprints, map dispersion, and investigate links between exposure indicators and health outcomes where ethics and approvals allow. Core training includes analytical chemistry, particle characterisation, isotope ratio measurement, air sampling and spatial modelling.
