VWS Ltd
is expanding its installation and service team and is looking to recruit experienced engineers to support our growing portfolio of security, fire, and life‑safety systems.
You’ll be responsible for the installation, servicing, fault‑finding, and maintenance of a wide range of systems across
commercial environments
. This role suits a detail‑focused engineer who takes pride in high‑quality workmanship and professional customer interaction.
Applicants
must
have proven, hands‑on experience in the following disciplines:
- CCTV systems (analogue and IP – large‑scale systems up to 200+ cameras)
- Access control and security entry systems
- Door entry systems
- Structured cabling and networking
You will be familiar with and able to work to the following standards where applicable:
- NCP 104 & NCP 109
- BS 4737 / PD 662
- BS 5839
- BS 7036
- BS 7671
- Strong electrical wiring skills with a good understanding of electronic circuits
- Confident working at height
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools
- High‑quality installation of plastic and galvanised containment
- Completion of risk assessments and method statements for smaller works
- Accurate job reporting via company‑issued PDA
- Good IT skills, including PC hardware and networking (wired and wireless)
- Well organised, self‑motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Professional, presentable, and customer‑focused
- CSCS or ECS card (essential)
- PASMA and IPAF certification
- Experience with GDX concierge systems and stand‑alone door entry systems
- Familiarity with manufacturers such as Bell, BPT, Elvox, Raytel, and Entrotec
- Experience with both addressable and conventional fire alarm systems
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel
- Flexibility to work overtime or night shifts when required
- Company vehicle
- Laptop and mobile phone / PDA
- Uniform, PPE, and specialist tools
