Salary: £24,533 - £28,294
Hours: 36 per week
Tools Allowance: £13.26 per month
Role SummaryThe City of Edinburgh Council is committed to providing the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge in the world of work through our Modern (Craft) Apprenticeship Training Programme. Modern Apprenticeships offer new and returning entrants to the labour market the chance of paid employment combined with the opportunity to do training relevant to the occupational area, including the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications that help kick‑start a career.
ResponsibilitiesYou will serve a 4‑year Electrician apprenticeship where you will learn through on‑site learning and academic study a range of essential electrical works such as electrical wiring, installation of electrical fittings, testing equipment and installation of electrical fitments and conduits.
You will undertake an SVQ Level 3/SCQF Level 6 and pass all exams and standards required to qualify in this trade.
Qualifications & RequirementsApplicants must have left secondary education in the past three years or currently be on a City of Edinburgh Council employability training programme, or be aged up to 29
* with disability or care experience.
Applicants must show a willingness to participate in a Modern Apprenticeship programme.
Applicants must be willing to obtain a driving licence and must be able to travel to college.
* Due to criteria for external funding for qualification.
Salary & BenefitsOur salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
Tools allowance is provided to help cover equipment costs.
