We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Diagnostic / Warranty Technician to join a busy and professional workshop in Edinburgh.

This role is ideal for a skilled Vehicle Technician who enjoys advanced diagnostics, fault finding and major mechanical repairs, rather than routine servicing. You’ll be working in a modern workshop environment using OEM diagnostic tools and specialist equipment while handling complex repairs and warranty work.

Key Diagnostic Vehicle Technician Responsibilities
* Diagnose complex vehicle faults using OEM diagnostic systems and specialist tools
* Carry out major mechanical repairs including engine and gearbox replacements
* Perform advanced electrical and mechanical fault finding
* Conduct root cause analysis in line with manufacturer warranty standards
* Use specialist equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters and smoke testers
* Complete road tests, recalibrations and system resets after repairs
* Accurately document work for warranty submissions and manufacturer compliance
* Support and mentor junior technicians within the workshop
* Maintain high standards of workmanship, workshop organisation and health & safety

Diagnostic Vehicle Technician Requirements
* MI Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
* Proven experience as a Diagnostic Technician, Master Technician or Senior Vehicle Technician
* Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills
* Experience working with manufacturer diagnostic systems
* Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
* Strong team player with a proactive and professional approach
