We are seeking a skilled General Maintenance Operative with strong plumbing skills to join our Facilities team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the Club's stadium, training ground, and associated properties.
This is a varied, hands‑on role requiring a practical multi‑skilled individual who can undertake a wide range of building maintenance tasks, with a particular focus on plumbing repairs and installations. The role is key to ensuring that the Club's facilities remain safe, compliant, well‑maintained, and fit for purpose.
The successful candidate will also assist with larger maintenance projects, work alongside external contractors, and support the Club's operations on matchdays and during emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities General Building Maintenance- Maintain the internal and external fabric of Club buildings to a high standard.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests.
- Complete general repairs across the stadium, training ground, and associated facilities.
- Repair and replace stadium seating.
- Carry out minor carpentry works including shelving, repairs, furniture assembly, and installation.
- Undertake painting and decorating projects.
- Clear gutters, drainage channels, and rainwater systems.
- Maintain external areas including pathways, car parks, and surrounding grounds.
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake a variety of plumbing maintenance tasks including:
- Diagnosing and repairing leaks.
- Repairing and replacing taps, toilets, cisterns, valves, and sanitary fittings.
- Installing and maintaining basic pipework and plumbing fixtures.
- Carrying out routine plumbing inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Identifying plumbing issues before they become major defects.
- Liaising with specialist contractors where larger works are required.
- To participate as a member of keyholder service for the stadium taking turns in opening and closing the stadium on event days.
- To carry out matchday duties to provide a safe environment for the operation of a professional football match alongside the club’s safety team.
- To always act in accordance with the Club’s rules, policies, procedures, and ethos.

Person Specification- Proven experience as a skilled General Maintenance Operative, Building Maintenance Engineer, or Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Operative.
- Strong practical plumbing experience with the ability to carry out day‑to‑day plumbing repairs and maintenance independently.
- Competent in a range of general building maintenance disciplines including carpentry, decorating, and basic repairs.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe systems of work.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and work independently.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Recognised plumbing qualification (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent).
- PASMA certification.
- IPAF certification.
- Experience working within sports, leisure, commercial, or public facilities.
