Hours:

8:00am - 6:00pm (9.5 hours paid daily)

Duration: ASAP start - running until end of October

JML are currently recruiting for an experienced Joiner to join a busy construction project in the New Town Quarter, Edinburgh. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson looking for consistent, well-paid work through to the end of October.

About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Joiner/Carpenter to carry out first and second fix joinery works on a residential/commercial development in Edinburgh's New Town Quarter. The successful candidate will work as part of an established site team, delivering high-quality carpentry and joinery works to programme.

Key

Duties & Responsibilities:

First fix joinery - stud walling, timber frame, floor joists, noggins
Second fix joinery - doors, door linings, skirting boards, architrave
Fitting ironmongery, locks, and hinges
Installing kitchen units, worktops, and fitted furniture (where required)
General finishing carpentry to a high standard
Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
Measuring, cutting, and fitting timber and manufactured boards
Working accurately to tight tolerances and finishes
Liaising with Site Managers and other trades on site
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area
Adhering to Health & Safety procedures at all times

Essential Requirements:

Valid CSCS Card (Skilled Worker or Blue Card)
Proven experience as a Joiner/Carpenter on construction sites
Own hand tools (power tools desirable)
Right to Work in the UK
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and quality of finish

Desirable:

NVQ Level 2/3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent)
Experience on new build residential or commercial developments
Previous experience working in Edinburgh/Central Scotland
