Hiring: Maintenance Technician

Umega Home Repairs is growing, and we’re looking for a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team in Edinburgh.

We look after a large portfolio of properties, helping our tenants and landlords keep their homes in tip-top condition. No two days are the same, and this role would suit someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and is confident tackling a variety of maintenance jobs.

You could be repairing a leaking tap in the morning, assembling furniture in the afternoon, carrying out some basic joinery or decorating, and finishing the day with a few general repairs.

We’re looking for someone with a good all-round maintenance skill set who is resourceful, takes pride in their work and has a practical “let’s figure it out” attitude.

You’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team, with everything you need to do the job properly, including a company van, tools, uniform and smartphone.

• General DIY and property maintenance
• Basic electrical maintenance
• Basic joinery and carpentry
• Furniture assembly and installation
• Basic painting and decorating, including touch-ups and making good
• Replacing fixtures, fittings and hardware
• Carrying out general repairs around properties
• Identifying issues and finding practical solutions
• Communicating with tenants and keeping them updated on work
• Working alongside our wider maintenance team to keep properties in great condition

• A solid DIY skill set and experience in property maintenance
• Experience with basic plumbing, electrical maintenance and joinery
• Basic painting and decorating skills
• Someone who is resourceful, proactive and able to think on their feet
• A customer-focused approach – communication is key when working in people’s homes
• Someone who takes pride in their work and cares about the quality of the finish
• A team player who enjoys a varied and fast-paced working environment
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload
• A willingness to learn and develop new skills
  
  Basic IT and smartphone/app skills
• A clean, full UK driving licence (essential)

• Salary:£26,000 – £31,000 per year
• Experience:Minimum 2 years in maintenance (required)
