We’re looking for a qualified Electrician to help keep electrical systems across our venues safe, reliable and compliant.

Based at Carron Place in Leith, you’ll travel between our venues using a company van. You’ll carry out planned maintenance, statutory inspections, testing, fault diagnosis, repairs and electrical improvement work across a varied estate of leisure facilities.

You’ll play an important role in reducing downtime, protecting our customers and colleagues, and keeping Edinburgh’s leisure facilities running safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Do:
  • Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance, inspections and testing across our venues.
  • Diagnose and repair faults across electrical systems, equipment, distribution systems and control panels.
  • Complete electrical installations, upgrades and improvement work safely and to current standards.
  • Plan and prioritise work to minimise disruption and respond effectively to urgent issues.
  • Identify risks, defects and recurring faults, taking action or escalating issues when specialist support is needed.
  • Keep accurate records of inspections, maintenance, repairs and remedial actions using our maintenance management system.
  • Manage tools, materials and spare parts, and help improve asset reliability, maintenance efficiency and energy use.
  • Work safely with colleagues, contractors and other trades, following legislation, risk assessments and organisational procedures.
What You’ll Bring :
  • SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, or equivalent NVQ Level 3 and a completed recognised electrical apprenticeship through SECTT or an equivalent route.
  • A current BS 7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations qualification, including the latest 18th Edition amendments.
  • At least two years’ post-apprenticeship experience working independently across electrical installations.
  • Experience of single-phase and three-phase systems, protective devices, motor arrangements and control panels.
  • Strong fault-finding and repair experience, ideally across heating, ventilation and lighting systems in commercial or public buildings.
  • A sound understanding of current health and safety legislation and safe working practices and willingness to complete and maintain the compliance training required for the role.
  • A full driving licence, as the role involves travelling between our venues in a company vehicle.
  • The ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands and make safe, practical decisions while minimising disruption to customers and staff.
  • Experience using digital systems and standard software, including CAFM systems, email, Word and Excel.
  • Desirable: Inspection and testing qualifications, portable electrical equipment testing, PASMA, asbestos awareness, confined spaces training, or experience with CAFM system, Building Management Systems, variable-speed drives, automation or control systems.
What We Offer:
  • Generous holiday allowance (32 days, rising with service up to 40 days)
  • Company pension (with employee contributions matched up to 12%)
  • Flexible working hours
  • Paid sick leave
  • Free membership across all our centres with access to fitness classes, gyms, and swimming pools
  • Opportunities for training, career growth and development
  • Cycle-to-work scheme
  • Access to discounts with a huge number of retailers (saving money in cinemas, restaurants, clothing, and electronics shops, on insurance and healthcare and much more)

Closing Date – Sunday, 1st of November

Assessment Date – Monday, 9th of November

Assessment Location - Carron Place, Leith, Edinburgh
