• Month-End Close&Financial Reporting:CoordinateandexecutemonthlyandquarterlycloseactivitiesinaccordancewithGAAP—includingpreparingandpostingjournalentries,reconcilingandanalyzingbalancesheetaccounts,andproducingaccurateinternalfinancialstatementsandmanagementreports.
• Variance&Budget Analysis:Analyzeandexplainbudget-to-actualvariancesandperiod-over-periodfinancialchangesonamonthly,quarterly,andannualbasis,providing clear,actionableinsightstoleadershiptosupportbusinessdecision-making.
• Store Operations Accounting :Manageaccountingactivitiesrelatedtonewstoreopenings,relocations,andmonthlyrentandoccupancycostanalysisacrossallretaillocations,ensuringaccuracyandalignmentwithoperationaldecisions.
• Lease&Fixed Asset Management :OverseeleaseaccountingunderASC
  842,includingevaluationofnewandmodifiedcontracts,preparationofrequiredschedules,andmaintenanceofaccuratefixedassetrecords—additions,disposals,depreciation,and reconciliation.
• Sales&Use Tax Compliance :Prepare,file,andanalyzemulti-jurisdictionalsalesandusetaxreturnstoensurecompliancewithstateandlocalregulations;proactivelyidentifydiscrepanciesorriskareas.
• Audit&Compliance:Leadtheannualauditprocessbycoordinatingdirectlywithexternalauditors,preparingsupportingschedules,andensuringtimelyandaccuratesubmissionofallrequireddocumentation.
• System&Process Optimization:Identify,design,andimplementimprovementsthatincreaseefficiency,accuracy,automation,andscalabilitywithinaccountingprocesses,ERPsystems,andreportingtools.
• Strategic Support:Partnerwiththe Accounting Manage rand VPofFinanceonbudgeting,forecasting,andadhocfinancialanalysesthatdrivestrategicinitiatives,operational performance,andcompanygrowth.

Education:

• Bachelor'sdegreeinaccountingorfinancerequired;strongfoundationalaccountingknowledgeisessentialforsuccessinthisrole.
• CPAcredentialoractiveprogresstowardCPApreferred,reflectingthetechnicaldepthrequiredforGAAPcompliance,lease accounting,auditleadership,andfuturemanagerialresponsibilities.

Required Experience:

• 4-7yearsofprogressiveaccountingexperience,ideallywithinaretail,multi-entity,orhigh-volumeoperatingenvironment.
• Demonstratedexpertiseinmonth-endclose,financialstatementpreparation,account reconciliations,andvarianceanalysis.
• StrongworkingknowledgeofGAAP,including hands-onexperiencewithleaseaccountingunderASC
  842andfixedassetaccounting.
• ExperienceutilizingandnavigatingmultipleERPsystems,withtheabilitytotroubleshootissues,streamlineworkflows,andsupportsystemenhancements.
• Advancedproficiencyinthe Microsoft Office Suite ,particularly
  
  Excel(pivottables,complexformulas,data modeling) tosupportanalysisandreportingrequirements.
• Provenexperiencesupportingorleadingauditpreparation,includingdevelopingschedules,reconcilingsupportingdocumentation,andinteractingwithexternalauditors.
• Demonstratedabilitytomentorortrainteammembers,reflectingreadinessforasuccessiontrackinto

  Manager.

Skills:

• Experience with
  
  PowerBI,Power Query,Power Pivot,ordatawarehousereportingtoolstosupportautomation,dashboarding,andenhancedanalytics.

• Exposuretonewstoreaccounting,leasereview,andoperationalaccountinginamulti-locationretailmodel.
• Experiencedrivingprocessimprovementsthatincreaseaccuracy,automation,orefficiencywithinaccountingoperations.

• Base salary:$95,000-$115,000annually,basedonqualificationsandexperience
