Position Summary

The Accounting Managerleadsthemonth -endcloseprocess,maintainsstronginternalcontrols,overseesday-to-dayaccountingfunctions,andsupportsfinancialreporting,audit readiness,andstrategicbusinessinitiatives.

Thisroleservesasakeybusinesspartneracrossdepartments—providingtimelyfinancialinformation,identifyingopportunitiesforprocessimprovement,andensuringcompliancewithaccountingstandardsandcompanypolicies.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Close&Reporting
  • Leadandmanagethemonthly,quarterly,andannualcloseprocesses
  • Reviewandapprovejournalentries,reconciliations,andsupportingschedules
  • Maintainownershipofbalancesheetreconciliationsandrelatedcontrols
  • Partner with Financeleadershiptopreparemonthlyfinancialstatements,variance analysis,andmanagementreporting
  • Ensure accuracy,completeness,andtimelinessofallfinancialreporting
General Ledger Management
  • Maintaintheintegrityofthegeneralledgerandchartofaccounts
  • ReviewcomplexaccountingtransactionsandensurecompliancewithGAAP
  • Analyseaccountingvariancesandinvestigatediscrepancies
  • Providetechnicalaccountingguidancetoteammembersandbusinesspartners
  • Ensureappropriateaccountingtreatmentforpayroll,incentive compensation,accruals,andotherkeyaccountingareas
Operational Accounting Oversight
  • Overseeaccountspayableprocesses,vendor payments,andcashdisbursements
  • Reviewpaymentrunsandensurealignmentwithcashflowrequirements
  • Monitorvendoractivityandresolveinvoice,receipt,andreconciliationissues
  • Partnerwithoperationalteamstoimprovefinancialprocessesandcontrols
Audit,Compliance&Internal Controls
  • Coordinateannualfinancialstatementauditsandexternalauditrequests
  • Prepareandreviewauditschedulesandsupportingdocumentation
  • Maintaincompliancewithinternalcontrolsandaccountingpolicies
  • Identifyandmitigatefinancialandoperationalrisks
  • Ensureauditreadinessthroughouttheyear
Treasury,Insurance&Risk Management
  • Supporttreasuryactivities,cash management,andbankingrelationships
  • Manageaccountingactivitiesrelatedtoinsuranceprogrammesandclaims
  • Monitorinsuranceaccrualsandrelatedfinancialreporting
  • Assistwithriskmanagementinitiativesandfinancialcompliancerequirements
Leadership&Team Development
  • Lead,coach,anddevelopaccountingteammembers
  • Establishclearexpectations,accountability,andperformancestandards
  • Conductperformancereviewsandsupportprofessionaldevelopmentplanning
  • Fosteracultureofcontinuousimprovement,collaboration,andoperationalexcellence
  • Supportrecruiting,onboarding,andsuccessionplanningwithintheaccountingfunction
Cross-Functional Partnership
  • CollaboratewithFP&A,HR,Operations,Merchandising,Supply Chain,and Executive Leadership
  • Providefinancialinsightsthatsupportbusinessdecisions
  • Participateinspecialprojects,system implementations,andprocessimprovementinitiatives
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor'sdegreein

    Accounting,Finance,orrelatedfield
  • 6–10yearsofprogressiveaccountingexperience
  • Minimum3yearsofleadershiporsupervisoryexperience
  • StrongknowledgeofGAAPandfinancialreportingrequirements
  • Experiencemanagingmonth-endcloseprocesses
  • Experiencecoordinatingexternalaudits
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • ExperienceworkingwithinERPandfinancialreportingsystems
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA designation
  • Retail,distribution,ormulti-locationbusinessexperience
  • Experiencesupportinghigh-growthorganisations
  • Experiencewithprocessimprovementandsystemimplementations
Compensation&Benefits
  • Base salary:$110,000–$145,000annually,basedonqualificationsandexperience
  • Bonusprogramme:10% ofannualsalarybasedonpersonalandcompanyperformance
