Managerplaysacriticalleadershiproleinensuringtheaccuracy,integrity,andefficiencyofthecompany'sfinancialoperations.
The Accounting Managerleadsthemonth -endcloseprocess,maintainsstronginternalcontrols,overseesday-to-dayaccountingfunctions,andsupportsfinancialreporting,audit readiness,andstrategicbusinessinitiatives.
Thisroleservesasakeybusinesspartneracrossdepartments—providingtimelyfinancialinformation,identifyingopportunitiesforprocessimprovement,andensuringcompliancewithaccountingstandardsandcompanypolicies.
Financial Close&Reporting
- Leadandmanagethemonthly,quarterly,andannualcloseprocesses
- Reviewandapprovejournalentries,reconciliations,andsupportingschedules
- Maintainownershipofbalancesheetreconciliationsandrelatedcontrols
- Partner with Financeleadershiptopreparemonthlyfinancialstatements,variance analysis,andmanagementreporting
- Ensure accuracy,completeness,andtimelinessofallfinancialreporting
- Maintaintheintegrityofthegeneralledgerandchartofaccounts
- ReviewcomplexaccountingtransactionsandensurecompliancewithGAAP
- Analyseaccountingvariancesandinvestigatediscrepancies
- Providetechnicalaccountingguidancetoteammembersandbusinesspartners
- Ensureappropriateaccountingtreatmentforpayroll,incentive compensation,accruals,andotherkeyaccountingareas
- Overseeaccountspayableprocesses,vendor payments,andcashdisbursements
- Reviewpaymentrunsandensurealignmentwithcashflowrequirements
- Monitorvendoractivityandresolveinvoice,receipt,andreconciliationissues
- Partnerwithoperationalteamstoimprovefinancialprocessesandcontrols
- Coordinateannualfinancialstatementauditsandexternalauditrequests
- Prepareandreviewauditschedulesandsupportingdocumentation
- Maintaincompliancewithinternalcontrolsandaccountingpolicies
- Identifyandmitigatefinancialandoperationalrisks
- Ensureauditreadinessthroughouttheyear
- Supporttreasuryactivities,cash management,andbankingrelationships
- Manageaccountingactivitiesrelatedtoinsuranceprogrammesandclaims
- Monitorinsuranceaccrualsandrelatedfinancialreporting
- Assistwithriskmanagementinitiativesandfinancialcompliancerequirements
- Lead,coach,anddevelopaccountingteammembers
- Establishclearexpectations,accountability,andperformancestandards
- Conductperformancereviewsandsupportprofessionaldevelopmentplanning
- Fosteracultureofcontinuousimprovement,collaboration,andoperationalexcellence
- Supportrecruiting,onboarding,andsuccessionplanningwithintheaccountingfunction
- CollaboratewithFP&A,HR,Operations,Merchandising,Supply Chain,and Executive Leadership
- Providefinancialinsightsthatsupportbusinessdecisions
- Participateinspecialprojects,system implementations,andprocessimprovementinitiatives
- Bachelor'sdegreein
Accounting,Finance,orrelatedfield - 6–10yearsofprogressiveaccountingexperience
- Minimum3yearsofleadershiporsupervisoryexperience
- StrongknowledgeofGAAPandfinancialreportingrequirements
- Experiencemanagingmonth-endcloseprocesses
- Experiencecoordinatingexternalaudits
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- ExperienceworkingwithinERPandfinancialreportingsystems
- CPA designation
- Retail,distribution,ormulti-locationbusinessexperience
- Experiencesupportinghigh-growthorganisations
- Experiencewithprocessimprovementandsystemimplementations
- Base salary:$110,000–$145,000annually,basedonqualificationsandexperience
- Bonusprogramme:10% ofannualsalarybasedonpersonalandcompanyperformance
