Senior Accountant

Soni Resources is partnering with a Manufacturing client near Edison, NJ, on the search for a Senior Accountant
. This role will support the organization’s accounting operations, financial reporting, and month‑end close processes and will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, preparing and reviewing account reconciliations, supporting fixed asset and cost accounting activities, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies. The Senior Accountant will also review work completed by accounting staff, assist with audits, and help drive process improvements across the accounting function.

Experience with in Consumer Products and Manufacturing environments is required for success in this role.

• Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries, account analyses, and financial reporting.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and asset tracking.
• Oversee accounting for customer rebate and incentive programs, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Perform cash and bank reconciliations and support cash management activities.
• Assist with inventory and cost accounting, including variance analysis and manufacturing-related accounting support.
• Provide oversight and support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
• Review and approve accounting work prepared by staff while providing guidance and support.
• Support internal and external audits and help maintain strong internal controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Direct experience in Consumer Products and Manufacturing accounting is required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems;
  Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
• Power BI experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and reconciliation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• CPA or CPA‑track preferred.
• Manufacturing and/or cost accounting experience preferred.
• Prior experience reviewing or supervising accounting staff is a plus.

Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other job‑related qualifications.
