Vice President Finance

We are representing a Vice President of Finance opportunity with a profitable, private equity-backed business headquartered in Southern New Jersey. This organization has established itself as a market leader within its niche and is entering an exciting phase of growth through both strategic acquisitions and organic expansion. The company is seeking a hands‑on finance leader who can serve as a strategic business partner while elevating the accounting and finance function.

• Reports directly to the CEO and serves as a key member of the executive leadership team
• Opportunity to go beyond traditional controllership responsibilities by partnering closely with operations and driving strategic financial initiatives
• Lead the transition from cash basis to GAAP accounting while improving financial reporting processes and month‑end close timelines
• Manage external audit relationships, including annual financial statement and SOC 1 audits
• Leverage operational and financial data to support executive decision‑making, pricing, contract analysis, and business performance
• Lead and mentor a small accounting team while partnering cross‑functionally across the organization
• Highly visible position with significant influence on the future direction of the business

• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
• CPA and/or public accounting background strongly preferred
• Experience as a Controller, VP of Finance, or CFO with the ability to operate both strategically and hands‑on
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including GAAP and external audit management
• Proven experience leading cross‑functional initiatives and partnering with executive leadership
• Prior experience within a private equity‑backed or middle‑market company is highly preferred
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team development skills
