Cost Accountant

Our client, a growing manufacturing company, is hiring a Cost Accountant to join its team in a newly created, high-impact role. Reporting directly to the Controller, you'll have the opportunity to build and enhance the plant's cost accounting function, partnering closely with operations to improve visibility into manufacturing costs and drive better business decisions.

• Maintain and update standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead within the ERP system.
• Analyze material, labor, overhead, purchase price, and production variances, providing meaningful insights to management.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities related to inventory, cost of goods sold, and manufacturing accounts.
• Monitor work-in-process, raw material, and finished goods inventory, including inventory valuation and reserves.
• Participate in physical inventory counts, cycle counts, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Partner with operations, engineering, procurement, and supply chain to improve costing accuracy and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting for manufacturing costs, inventory, labor, and overhead.
• Support ERP and production process improvements, including BOM development and inventory flow.
• Recommend process improvements to strengthen cost controls and reporting.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 2–5+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of standard costing, work-in-process, overhead allocation, inventory, cycle counts, BOMs, routings, and production reporting.
