Role Description
The Accounting Associate is a full-time, on-site role based in South Plainfield / Edison, NJ. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, assisting with the preparation and review of financial statements, and reconciling accounts. The Accounting Associate will maintain accurate records in accounting software, help monitor accounts payable and receivable, and support month-end and year-end closing activities. The successful candidate will contribute to improving financial processes and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Duties
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records within accounting software such as Quick Books.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Reconcile the differences in invoice payments and dispute the chargebacks.
- Support balance sheet reconciliation activities, including general ledger account analysis and journal entries.
- Aid in the review of financial data for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies and governmental regulations.
- And other tasks/projects assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of accounting principles such as debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger accounting
- Experience with accounting software including Quick Books Desktop.
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of financial concepts such as account reconciliation, journal entries, budgeting, and credit analysis
- Excellent math skills combined with analytical thinking for account analysis and account reconciliation tasks
- Ability to adapt quickly to new software tools like ERPs.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and support internal controls compliance
