This is a HYBRID position, 4 DAYS A WEEK at client sites in the Elizabeth, NJ area.
Have you ever walked down an aisle in your local retailer and wondered why your favorite beverage or food product moved? At NielsenIQ, we work with U.S. retailers to help them understand their consumers and optimize their business down every aisle. On the NielsenIQ Retail Customer Success Team you will work face‑to‑face with major retail players and use NielsenIQ solutions to help answer questions such as finding the right assortment and guiding pricing strategies to drive market share.

The primary role of the Analyst is to be responsible for all aspects of analysis including designing and executing models, analyzing results, simulating client plans, creating deliverable materials, and supporting presentation/training/tool delivery.

Drive Client Value- Conduct research and analysis to identify trends and patterns that inform client business issues, and formulate findings into a compelling story
- Perform quality assessments on large datasets, quickly identify potential errors, and develop solutions to address them
- Create deliverables in Excel and PowerPoint as well as NielsenIQ proprietary software
- Provide error‑free, on‑time results
- Work consultatively and creatively with clients and NielsenIQ teams
- Execute tasks detailed on a project plan, including collecting, organizing, and tracking data inputs and leading internal meetings
- Develop mastery of proprietary NielsenIQ tools and metrics to address client business questions
- Seek learning opportunities to advance technical, retail expertise, or solution knowledge
- Train and mentor new associates
- Contribute to a positive team environment that others want to join
- Escalate concerns to Delivery Consultants or Principal in a timely manner when needed
- Ensure quality and timeliness of delivery (no re‑work, on‑time performance)
- Deliver work efficiently and pursue opportunities to increase efficiency
- Execute tasks independently and manage workload effectively
- Collaborate with consultants and clients and receive positive feedback
- Proactively identify client issues and develop solutions
- Share new ideas and creative solutions
- Learn about retail clients and analytic solutions to solve their business issues
- Maintain an analytical mindset, inquisitive, problem‑solving, self‑starter
- Be a strong storyteller with written and verbal communication skills
- Willing to work onsite 4 days a week
- College/University undergraduate degree
- Customer service experience (required)
- Experience in a professional services organization and applied analytics to resolve business issues; 1‑2 years of retail or CPG experience highly preferred
- Strong logic, deductive reasoning, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills; ability to synthesize data and identify/diagnose errors independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Office suite preferred (Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI)
- Proactive; able to anticipate upcoming work rather than waiting for instruction
- Enthusiasm for applying statistical analysis to address business issues
- Effective time‑management and ability to handle multiple responsibilities
- Detail‑oriented with excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
Market‑competitive salary: $58,000‑$70,000. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, skills, and location. Role may also be eligible for sales‑based incentive or performance‑based bonus.
