- Collect historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future projects.
- Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
- Analyze all drawing sets;
architectural, interior design, mechanical, plumbing, structural, electrical, low voltage system and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. - Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Review contract and bid documents; review and understand scope for project turnover
- Attend walk-throughs, pre-bid and scope clarification meetings
- Quantitative take-off and data entry into Accubid and Excel.
- 5+ years related electrical estimator experience in the construction industry.
- Bachelor of Science in construction management related field desirable.
- Knowledge of the construction industry and contract documentation.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and city regulations and guidelines.
